  • Jerry Knight

    Lead Pastor

Jerry Knight attended Victory Baptist College in North Augusta, South Carolina and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Theology. During his time there, he was involved in various ministries that the church had to offer. Soon after graduation he served at Callie Harbin Baptist Church as a volunteer for the music ministry and also taught and preached in several classes. From there, he would go on to serve as assistant pastor at Greater Life Baptist Church in Cataula, Georgia, where he received much of the hands-on training that doesn't come with a college education.

"Some things can't be learned through a textbook. You must get real life experience. These things can only be learned on the job, rather than in the classroom."

Jerry is very thankful for each place of training that God has placed him on and in throughout his ministry journey thus far.

While at Greater Life, he met his wife Emma through a church in Livingston, Louisiana where she was heavily involved in ministry. After much prayer and leading of the Lord, they were married September 10, 2021. During this exciting and busy time in their lives, the opportunity to pastor Lighthouse Baptist Church in Pascagoula came to their attention. The Lord worked miraculously behind the scenes and Jerry was voted in unanimously as pastor. Since October he has been serving here in the lead pastor role.

"I call these God moments," says Jerry. "The moments when things would come together and the timing as it did. It can only be God."

Emma continues to serve as a huge asset to Jerry's ministry here at Lighthouse. She has many roles in the church and as a wife, and also juggles an outside career as a nurse. Emma graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University as an RN and is working on the PCU unit at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. Despite the difficult schedules and the busyness of everyday life, she and Jerry continue to do all that they do for the glory of God!
